The protagonist Adam Bronn has spent most of his life mourning the death of those around him. While working at a retirement home, he discovers the ability to raise the dead. He takes it upon himself to bring back Elisa in one piece. A showdown between Adam and Thereon could lead to the squad’s unraveling and Adam’s impending death.
The Life Squad eBook Amir Yassai
True: the reader cannot help but be invested in the protagonist's journey to self-discovery once he realizes he can raise the dead. True: one is appalled by the extent to which the evil doers go to hurt the life givers including the protagonist. I couldn't put the book down. You want the characters to live (they are, after all, archetypes, therefore parts of us all---the courageous, the doomed, the saved). But like most good books, this leaves the reader praying for the safety of the characters. The story has interesting ups and downs, I found myself rooting for the blossoming love story between the two protagonists. I'm waiting hand and foot for the 2nd book.

The Life Squad eBook Amir Yassai Reviews
This book is amazing everyone needs to read it, well written and awesome ploT!! Recommended for those who enjoy a good love story and a good life story. Enjoy!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! A thrilling story that will keep you on your toes with its twists and turns and you won't want to put it down until you are finished.
Yassai truly has the storytelling gift and the words powerful, riveting, genuine and unforgettable come to mind with The Life Squad. Think Twilight, Hunger Games and this book will even top those two!!! It is truly worth reading!!
this book was a great escape into another imaginary world. sure it was in the fantasy category, but how long has it been since there has been a good fantasy book out there? this book depicted genuine people who, at the bottom line, believed that their actions were for the higher good. its so nice to have such inspiring texts out there that show a different side of the human condition. high recommended.
Yassai has you not from the first page or the first chapter, but with the first sentence!! He creates believable, likable and riveting characters, ridiculously addictive survival scenarios and a rich world to boot. If you aren't up until 4 a.m. finishing this thing, then you're a corpse.
My only problem with this novel also happens to be a very big problem the overall premise. I'm not spoiling anything by mentioning that the plot involves people who can raise the dead. I find myself not believing the fact that multiple people with the power to raise the dead would miraculously find each other, but as a reader I was thrilled they did once I kept reading. Once I was able to suspend reality, which is what I presume this genre of writing asks its readers to do, I became a part of the the Life Squad world and basically had to read it cover to cover. Sidenote This cover is so fantastic! I also really liked the developing affection between the two main characters and I hope to see the relationship further developed in the sequel!
Wow. I was barely able to put this book down for a second after the first few pages got me completely hooked. Yassai's narrative here has an urgency to it that, when combined with the very dramatic life-or-death plot, is incredibly compelling. It's entertaining, and incredibly gripping all at the same time. If this was merely a good read, I would have given it 4 stars, but the book left me yearning for the sequel. The cover is taunting me now every time I see it because I want to know what happens next! Side note I really loved the graphic on the front, "don't judge a book by its cover" but judge this one cause you'll love it!
Okays so basically the storyline comes together quickly and keeps you on your toes. Even though the writing is for young adults, the main characters are in their 20's you get some physical action, but not too much (has the Twilight vibes of desire). Thereon, the antagonist is a very terrifying villain and adds dimension to the storyline. The story is basically about a man who discovers the ability to raise the dead, which leads him on a mission of self-discovery. I don't want to spoil it by saying any more, but if you liked The Hunger Games, you'll definitely like this. Take my advice and read this book.
, when can I preorder book 2???
