She's lifted the burqa on Dubai, and ate, preyed and loved Bali. Now Becky Wicks heads to South America for a bit of LATINALICIOUS ! I've read Becky Wicks' Dubailicious so I'm already a fan. This one is all travelogue rather than working overseas as she did in the UAE. She's still a lot of fun with her pointed observations of one that is open to experiences yet also has that wicked sarcastic British sense of humor when called for. Lucky for us she hits a whole bunch of places in South America worth discovering from Cartagena to Cuzco as well as stopping up some of the big cities like Rio and Buenos Aires. Interspersed with her travels are some wonderful old (and new) friends who join her along the way.

Latinalicious The South America Diaries eBook Becky Wicks Reviews

A bit repetitive but hilarious
Having traveled in South America, I was delighted to read about some of the places I visited, written with such delightful humor. I almost wished to return, this time as a hosteler like the author.
Becky Wicks has done an outstanding job writing this book with her trademark wit telling hilarious stories and perceptions from her south american adventure! She somehow manages to combine glam & adventure with even the hairiest of situations in her travels. She never misses and opportunity to describe the most engaging of details about even a small event that leaves you in tears of laughter and utterly inspires you to pack your bags for south america.

I bought the book to get excited about my own trip to south american this year....and I've been able to gather some really valuable travel tips from this book all while being entertained with this little gem of a page turner! 5 stars!
This book is definitely for the twenty something age group. I have no desire to spend one night in a hostel, but if that is your thing, knock yourself out. I was looking for more of a winery visit, site seeing, eating out information book. This may be good for the younger set, but not for me.
I just loved her honest experience of traveling South America. Her quirky humour makes it such Nicole easy read. Wish I had her for a travel companion
I would recommend this to anyone who has read Becky's 2 eariler books, "Burqualicious' & 'Balilicious' and to those who haven't. Becky is a great raconteur whilst also being very informative of the region, and turning out a feelgood fun account of her time in South America. She is extremely likeable and warm with a very wry sense of humour...
I instantly buy her books whether I am interested in the area she is writing about or not...
This book is a perfect mix of entertainment and information.
It's so hard to find a travel memoir that is fun to read while still being educational.

Following Becky Wicks on her adventures had me laughing out loud and sometimes even gasping in horror.
Definitely worth reading even if you don't have imminent travel plans. However, be aware that you will WANT to go to South America by time you're done reading Latinalicious!
